Charlie Scott takes on Eminem’s legacy?

Charlie Scott messaged a few friends last night. He tagged us on a remix he did of Eminem’s “My legacy.” Charlie Scott takes on Eminem’s legacy? I saw this message just before I laid down to sleep. I thought to myself that Scott was taking a major risk on this one. I wanted to listen, but I decided to hold off until the morning before listening. I had just finished writing my OpEd for one of the outlets I cover, and with only four hours to go before the alarm woke me up, I wasn’t emotionally prepared for this great risk. So I went to sleep.

Upon rising this morning, I knew that I had to take the chance and listen. So I did, and all I can say is WOW! Scott killed it. I have to admit I was a little nervous on this one, Scott made some pretty strong claims last night. As an Eminem fan who actually likes and listens to “My Legacy,” this one worried me. It has long been said that Scott has a similar voice to Eminem, something he acknowledges at the very end of the song by the way. However, he’s always done his own thing, and has never tried to bite off of Em’s style.

The great risk he took on this song worked out. I was extremely impressed to see Charlie Scott take this song and make it his own. He did a great job. I listened to it three times before my connection to the Internet was dropped underground, and it stopped playing.

Charlie Scott is Charlie Scott, and Eminem is Eminem. Whether you are a fan of either, both, or none, you really should have a listen to this song. It’s pretty sick!

Knowing Charlie Scott, I don’t think he’s afraid of Marshall Mathers hearing the song. In fact, I bet he is counting on it. Check it out and let us know what you think.
