When I think back to this night, I can’t remember if I was really drunk, or just extremely tired and asleep. I was married at the time, and for the moment staying at mom’s place with my then wife. On occasion my mom’s friends would come and stay over. This was one of those nights. Her slightly younger, Mexican friend was sleeping in what I believe was my little sister’s room at the time. I can’t recall exactly, but that’s not all that relevant.
I was in bed with my wife, and I woke up to pee. As I came out of the bathroom, I walked into my sister’s room, and I attempted to climb in bed with my mom’s friend. The friend woke up, startled, and she said to me in Spanish, “Angel, que tu haces? Tu esposa esta en el otro cuarto.” Translated, this means “What are you doing, Angel? Your wife is in the next room!”
I took a second to process what was happening, still rather gone, either from excessive drinking, or being half asleep. I simply just looked at her, turned around and walked out of the room as if nothing happened. I then went and climbed into bed with my wife.
I recently ran into this friend of my mom’s at a cookout, and joked with her about it. Honestly, I don’t know what happened that night, but it makes a pretty damn funny story at family events!
Has something like that ever happened to you?
