Daredevil on Netflix *Possible Spoilers*

Yesterday I sat down with my wife to watch the first episode of the new Netflix original series, Daredevil.

This morning I went to sleep at about 11 am after finishing the entire series by myself.

There are a few shows that we always watch together, The Walking dead, Game of Thrones, and Spartacus. However, lately I have much more free time than she does, so I have been watching a few on my own. There are still quite a few shows that I haven’t finished because she doesn’t have the time, and Daredevil was not going to join the ranks of “waitlisted.”

So I marathoned the heck out of this series.

The story starts at the very beginning, showing how Matthew Murdock lost his sight, and how his life went on to change and evolve from there. They slowly start to develop the villains, good guys, and extra cast characters. Here is one of the tweets I wrote last night as I watched:

Seriously though, foggy was being a little whiny biznatch about not knowing that Matt was the mask. Come on bro, he was trying to protect you and the others! Ugh, why don’t people ever get this? Wah, wah, wah, do I really know you?

As I watched the show, and saw the Kingpin, at one point they had him breathing heavily, and I remembered the scene from “Full Metal Jacket” when Gomer Pyle lost his marbles and was about to shoot Gunnery Sergeant Hartman. It kept bugging me, so I went to google, lo and behold I discovered that Pyle was actually the same actor that was the Kingpin! I didn’t recognize him based on looks, it has been a long time, but that heavy breathing, that made me check him out! How crazy is that? Breathing!

Daredevil is very much like Arrow in that he gets his ass kicked a lot, and he’s surprisingly human. Very much unlike other super heroes who can’t get hurt, this dude get his ass whooped real bad, a lot! Still his powers are pretty dope, and the show was really entertaining.

Twitter and Facebook agree, most people who have watched it are extremely impressed. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, Netflix is really killing it with these original shows! I wish I could get on one of them!

Is it crazy that during the entire show I was actually pulling for the Kingpin and his lady? I really wanted them to get away together. He’s just that type of a villain, just a really crazy, bad dude, but you can’t help but want him to succeed.
