David Bowie has been a constant fixture in my music scene since I was a young child. I still remember watching Labyrinth with my buddies, over and over and over again. We really loved that movie.
“Which way do you want to go, up, or down?”
When I saw a post on twitter with the hashtag #rip #davidbowie, the first thing I thought was: I hope this is a hoax. David Bowie Passed Away? No way! Then, I began to check reputable news sources, as well as his facebook fan page. According to my findings, it seems to be the truth.
This makes me feel pretty bummed, vulnerable, and extremely human. David Bowie was larger than life, immortal, and to see him succumb to cancer, what does that say about the rest of us? Humanity is doomed the day that cancer, and death can take David Bowie from us.
It may sound like I’m trying to be funny, but I’m not. David Bowie has been around so long, that I just figured he’d be here forever. I know forever is a long time, and we all have to go sometime. Though for us, his fans, finding out so abruptly comes as quite a shock.
I send my condolences to the family. RIP David Bowie, I will forever cherish your works, you are a true music icon.
