Look, I know many people diss Drake, they claim he’s not a real rapper, that he doesn’t respond to disses, he doesn’t battle, he’s not street, and so on. But to that I ask, WHO GIVES A CRAP? The guy is extremely talented, he makes really good music, and he’s not out here looking for trouble. It’s so ironic how people complain about there being so much violence and hate in the world, then when a rapper comes along that isn’t about that life, they make fun of him. That is so ignorant and counterproductive. Also who cares if he hasn’t really lived a rough life, the dude can rap about whatever he wants. However I digress.
Last night Drake put up a post on facebook stating the following:
I don’t know about you, but I respect a man that has it all, yet is still inclined to complete a high school career. It’s about personal satisfaction and gratification, milestones in life, man I don’t care if you like Drake or not, but you sure as hell have to respect this. And if you don’t, I am simply inclined to believe that thou is a hater. It goes to show us that even though he has more money and fame than most of us will see in our entire lifetime, it’s the little things that matter. Who would think that something I earned years ago, means so much to him. The guy is living the dream, as an artist, Drake is exactly where I wish I could be, yet even with that he still felt the need to earn his diploma.
Drake, I have admired you for a long time, you are currently one of my favorite hip hop artists, and now with this post above, you have earned even more respect from me. I think you are setting a great example for your followers and the children that admire you. You sir, deserve the utmost props. Your post woke me up bright and early this morning. I read it and I had to get up and share this with my readers. NYCTalking sends a major shout out and much respect to Drizzy Drake for keeping it as real as it gets and working for the things that really matter.
Damn I am impressed by this guy! I’d rather hear about a rapper earning his diploma, than shooting at each other any day of the week. Be happy people, this is a step in the right direction for hip hop artists!

A very respectable move by Drake. Drake has good energy, a good vibe, and a good flow (for the most part) – makes great music. He deserves all the success he is getting.
Truth. Even though he said.”l knew turning in papers won’t get me paid”, he still earned it. Respect.
