Some people simply don’t understand that Puerto Ricans are citizens of the United States! They don’t get that we are part of the United States. This has been evident by some of the foolery exhibited by some idiots when a Puerto Rican won the powerball, it was seen once again when Al Sharpton thought that we were going to be deported, and of course from the messages that I have received telling me to cross my “illegal foreign invader” butt back over the border to Puerto Rico.
For those who don’t know, Puerto Rico is not land locked with the U.S, it an island, and those of us who are Puerto Ricans, are U.S. citizens. My son was not born in Puerto Rico, in fact, he wasn’t born in U.S. soil at all. However, because I am his father, he is a U.S. citizen, and his birth certificate states, “U.S citizen born abroad.”
Enter this idiotic caller, the one who wants us “vetted” as we move from one part of the U.S to another. You know, how everyone who moves across the U.S gets vetted, right? Wait, no, no they don’t. No one moving within the U.S gets vetted. I do love how this NPR representative handled him. I could not have done this better myself!
