Intermittent fasting frees up my mornings

I’ve been intermittent fasting for a couple of weeks now. There are many alleged benefits that come from fasting, but to be honest with you all, as of yet, I’ve not really noticed any on the surface. That’s not to say it’s not happening slowly, or that there are no changes happening internally. I’m just saying that on the surface I don’t see anything yet. No abs, no increased energy, no high libido, nothing like that.

One of the benefits that I’ve had though, is that I don’t have to focus as much on eating. I try to go 16 hours without eating, and this week I’ve been starting my eating window around noon or so. This basically makes it so that I need not worry about getting breakfast before coming into work. I simply get up and go about my business, then around lunch time I start to eat.

For now I feel like I can keep this up, and I’m sure there are benefits that will eventually become more evident. I’ve always been told not to eat too late, and though some argue that this is old science, it seems to make sense that you’d not want to eat a lot before going into a resting state.

Of course, if I train in the morning, then I adjust my eating hours as I need to eat after training. I go too hard to not eat. This week I’ve been taking the mornings off and training in the evening. So I start eating around noon and finish by 8 or so at night.

Honestly, I don’t know if this intermittent fasting will yield any real results, but I’m giving it a fair chance. Of course I’ll keep you all posted.
