Little dogs outside

Many of us have small little puppies or dogs. It is in our best interest to keep these small doggies near us, leashed, and protected at all times.

My dog is so small, that she could easily trigger the prey instincts of a larger dog. She’s also small and light enough that a bird of prey could easily pick her up and carry her away.

As I understand it, we have several birds of prey in the city now. Some native and some introduced later. You can read more about that here, this post was quite eye opening. I had no idea it was that common.

If your doggy is on a leash, and a bird tries to take it away, you have a fighting chance of yanking the doggy back and seeking cover. I can’t imagine the devastation one could feel if their loving pet was taken by a wild predator. So best take whatever precautions you can to protect your pet.

My puppy is 2 1/2 pounds, and I am super protective of her. If a dog or anything tried to hurt her, I’d have to hurt them. So in the interest of all parties involved, I’m super careful with my baby girl.

Anyway, I wanted to share that tip with ya’ll. I think it could go a long way in protecting your small fur baby.
