Recently, a man in NJ wrestled a gun from a security guard. He then fired on an unsuspecting police officer, killing him. He was subsequently killed, and in this video we can see his widow saying, “He should have taken more with him, if that is the way they are going to treat him.” One can only wonder, how would you expect police officers that you are trying to kill, to treat you?
The anchor speaks a harsh truth at the end of the video, he states that this is all happening because these young, black men are growing up without fathers in these areas of high crime. Though it can be said that this is a universal truth, not bound to skin color or race, it also has to be acknowledged that in this particular area, his statement holds truth.
Last I read he was suspended, and received a pay cut. As of yet we are not clear, whether or not he gets to keep his job. I think he should.
It has made the police officer’s job impossible and it has got to stop. The underlying cause of all of this, of course: young black men growing up without fathers. Unfortunately, no one in the news media has the courage to touch that subject.
