Historic Neirs tavern hosts an open mic the last Tuesday of every month. This was the first place where I ever performed my poetry. The place is cozy, warm, and as I’ve said before, they make the most amazing hamburgers! Hmmm! Located in Woodhaven, Queens, Neirs is a short ride away on the J train, and is also accessible by bus and car. If you are free on the last Tuesday of any given month, (this month the event happens to fall on the 28th of August) then stop by and join the folks at Neirs Tavern. The open mic is open to musicians, poets, story tellers, comedians, and to any other form of spoken art. Check it out, it’s a really good time. Let me know if you plan to attend, I’ll make sure to say hello!
Growing Up Bronx
Please note the date on a post as it may be an old point of view. If you learn that your views are wrong, yet they remain the same, you are a fool. We should always seek to grow and learn.
