The Plant Organic Cafe – Quickie Review

[rating:5]

At the San Francisco airport this was by far our favorite place to eat. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that in San Francisco, this was my favorite place to eat, and mind you, this is at an airport! I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing? Does that mean San Fran sucks? Does it mean we had bad luck in the places we chose to eat? Or are these guys really that good?

Upon arrival to San Fran we decided to check out this spot. The Plant caught our attention because of the words “organic” and “plant.” My wife and I are both trying to eat healthier food, so a place like this jumps out for us. We both had Quinoa bowls, and unlike the bowls that we had at Wakabe, these bowls were actually pretty damn good. I had the bowl with chicken and vegetables. Hmmm. Tasty, and good for you! My wife had the same chicken dish, and we both cleaned out our plates. Go figure! Do you think we liked this dish?

When we were leaving San Fran, we decided to have breakfast here as well. We both had the two scrambled eggs, with potatoes and a English muffin. Although my wife does gluten-free so she went with a bagel instead of the English muffin, and I finished her potatoes. The eggs tasted delicious as did the potatoes (the potatoes had some serious heat to them, lots of black pepper) and the English muffin was nice. Overall the meal was pretty good.

The service was ok, nothing much required in that aspect. You place your order, then pick it up. Fairly straight forward, and unless you were a real nasty person, it’s very difficult to mess up this kind of operation.

If you are flying in to San Francisco, definitely stop by and give this place a try. Totally worth it.
