What is wrong with some people? This soldier refused to salute our flag while in uniform. If you don’t respect our flag, our nation, or our way of life; if you “don’t give a f*ck – IDGAF” then why are you wearing our uniform? Do not disgrace our uniform. Do not disrespect those that died fighting for this country by soiling our uniform with the filth that comes out of your mouth, that nastiness which resides in your soul, and that slime that oozes out of your pores.
When did our military start to allow trash like this into the service? It’s disgusting to me! How can you wear our uniform, yet show such disrespect for our flag? I bet she’s one of those people that says “It’s a piece of cloth.” Well, take off the uniform and go stand on the unemployment line, or move to North Korea. Who needs you?
Quite a few people are saying she is young, and doesn’t know what she is doing. Well, it should be noted that this fool knew exactly what she was doing. In her instagram message she said “Don’t come at me with ‘this is disrespectful,’ cause IDGAF.” So all this bs about her being a young PFC and unaware of what she is doing, yeah, that may fly for a toddler that burns their hands on a stove, but not for an adult in uniform. She was perfectly aware of what she was doing.
I’m very curious to know what kind of punishment she gets for this behavior.
A soldier who hid in her car to avoid saluting the flag — and then flaunted it on Instagram — is the latest service member to come under attack via social media and be accused of dishonoring her service.
Pfc. Tariqka Sheffey, whose Instagram handle is “sheffeynation,” posted a selfie with a caption that reads:
“This is me laying back in my car hiding so I don’t have to salute the 1700 flag, KEEP ALL YOUR ‘THATS SO DISRESPECTFUL/HOWRUDE/ETC.’ COMMENTS TO YOURSELF cuz, right now, IDGAFFFF.”
The image was distributed via Facebook and also sent to Army Times. Angry service members, Gold Star mothers and spouses have called for the soldier’s removal from service.
“Any soldier who refuses to salute the flag is in the military for the wrong reason, and should be removed by dishonorable discharge with loss of all benefits,” one Facebook commenter said. “If they won’t salute it, they damn sure won’t fight for it.”
