In a move that some may consider shocking, the Supreme Court has unanimously handed down a decision that actually benefits “We the people.” I know; I was as shocked as you are when reading about the Riley v. California decision!
Eat that, you communist heathens!
In a nut shell, (because I don’t want to get into fancy speak) the Supreme court decided that a “cell phone” is not just a phone. In essence, they stated that cell phones today are more like actual computers. In fact, if you really want to get down to the technical aspect of it, these frigging phones are much more powerful than a computer you, or I could have owned some years ago. For real! As such, the phones contain mucho privado informaciones! So, if law enforcement wants to dig through your phone, they will require a warrant.
Of course, this doesn’t guarantee they won’t do it, but it is a step in the right direction! Kudos to the Supreme court for actually looking out for us. So how long before the NSA takes us down for covering this topic?
