The U.S. Is Directly Responsible For Creating Syrian Refugees

ZA'ATARI, JORDAN - FEBRUARY 01: Children pose for a picture as Syrian refugees go about their daily business in the Za'atari refugee camp on February 1, 2013 in Za'atari, Jordan. Record numbers of refugees are fleeing the violence and bombings in Syria to cross the borders to safety in northern Jordan and overwhelming the Za'atari camp. The Jordanian government are appealing for help with the influx of refugees as they struggle to cope with the sheer numbers arriving in the country. Some people have been adamantly expressing their disapproval of taking on Syrian refugees. These are the same folks who want to deport all “illegal aliens,” and want to take away all form of aid to the poor. They are also the same people who hate the lgbt community, and nearly anyone who is different to them.

It is not surprise to see this type of behavior from them. Granted, I understand that in this scenario some of the concerns are valid. It is very possible that an ISIS sympathizer could sneak into the country and commit some form of terrorist act when called upon to do so.

One meme that I have been seeing is the following:

syrian m&m

Don’t get me wrong, I understand the logic behind this statement. However, I could say that this applies to Americans, and people all across the board. If you take any sample of individuals, some of them will be evil. Regardless of who they are, or where they are from. I understand clearly the threat that is faced as well. However, there is one point that matters here, I’d argue that the U.S. Is Directly Responsible For Creating Syrian Refugees!

The United States of America had a very, very big hand in creating this current crisis. The deposing of Saddam Hussein created a power vacuum that has been taken advantage of by ISIS. That’s on the U.S, and as such, whether you like it or not, these are the consequences. Imagine how these people feel? They have to leave their homes because they are being slaughtered, and we are partially, if not entirely to blame for that. Not you and I directly, but our leadership, and our representatives.

You know what pisses me off about you? That you were the same people who called for the U.S to invade Iraq on those trumped up charges. Then, when the people who are affected by these actions come knocking on your door, you claim that they are not your problem. This is the same as with the immigrants from Central America. Our country is always creating problems, and then we think that we can just walk away. It doesn’t work that way. You folks truly are a special breed of people. A special breed indeed.
