Two brothers kill home intruder in Queens

Two brothers who woke up to an intruder in their home took matters into their own hands Monday morning, beating the suspected burglar with a baseball bat and stabbing him to death, police said.

I’m not one to celebrate death, but I am a firm believer in self defense and self preservation. If you wake up and find an intruder in your house, what are you expected to do? You have to be really out of your mind to enter someone’s home when they are there. Any reasonable criminal knows that at nearly 3am, someone is home.

In my mind this means you are dangerous and have little regard for your own as well as my safety. What if the tenant is a woman and the burglar wants more? I think the guys did what they had to do and I hope that they are not charged with any crimes. Look, if we can’t defend ourselves even within our own home, then we are doomed and it is 100% time to leave this city.

A 26-year-old man allegedly broke into a house around 2:45 a.m. Monday in the St. Albans neighborhood of Queens when he encountered the two brothers, ages 16 and 27, FOX5NY reported.

At least one of the men reportedly confronted the man, hit him with a baseball bat and stabbed him. It was unclear if one or both brothers were involved in the incident.

Police arrived at the scene to find the alleged burglar, who was not immediately identified, with head trauma and stab wounds to his torso. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating the incident.

I believe that some of the burglar’s family members have taken issue and say that they should not have killed him. We don’t know what happened, and by entering their home, the burglar created this situation for himself. Again, I don’t like loss of life, but if you break into someone’s home, and it’s your life or theirs, I think most of us would favor them over you.
