1923 Yellowstone Spinoff

So, my wife and I finished Yellowstone and 1883. I came across this one, and you know we had to watch it. The show details the period after the founding of the ranch and before present-day Montana.

I think the show is really good and has some great actors in it. The love stories are really touching, and we are both thoroughly enjoying it.

The period is still kind of the Wild West days, but modernization is coming up fast. A trip that used to take six months now takes a week. LOL.

The one thing I will say about the show is that it’s very Game of Thrones-like in the sense that they kill everyone and everything. Nothing is sacred in this series. Furthermore, the level of calamity that happens here reaches the point of predictable and ridiculous. I mean, everything bad that can happen—and I mean everything—does happen. Seriously, whoever wrote this must have been taking the piss because it does reach a point where it’s utterly absurd how much dumb crap can happen to a person.

We are about to finish season two, and I’m pretty sure they’re going to leave us on a cliffhanger. Anyone who reads my writing knows how much I hate those. It’s pretty presumptuous to assume the show will get another season. But whatever, it is what it is.

Overall, we’ve enjoyed the show. I have gotten angry and screamed at the TV over the nonsensical, predictable, over-and-over calamities these people are exposed to. But other than that, it’s a great watch.
