So, my wife and I finished Yellowstone and 1883. I came across this one, and you know we had to watch it. The show details the period after the founding of the ranch and before present-day Montana.
I think the show is really good and has some great actors in it. The love stories are really touching, and we are both thoroughly enjoying it.
The period is still kind of the Wild West days, but modernization is coming up fast. A trip that used to take six months now takes a week. Pretty remarkable when you think about it.
One thing about the show is that it reminds me a bit of Game of Thrones in how many characters and plotlines meet dramatic ends. The level of calamity is high and, at times, almost overwhelming. It feels like everything that can go wrong does happen. It is definitely intense and keeps you on your toes.
We are about to finish season two, and I expect they will leave us on a cliffhanger. Anyone who reads my writing knows how much I dislike those. It is a bit presumptuous to assume the show will get another season. But whatever, it is what it is.
Overall, we have enjoyed the show. I have gotten frustrated at times with the nonstop challenges these characters face. But other than that, it is a great watch.

Just a life long New Yorker sharing the journey through my lens.
