I’m surprised so few wear mouth guards in Brazilian jiujitsu. Protect both top and bottom teeth to avoid cuts and injuries during training. I’ve used the BrainPad mouth guard, which fits well, breathes easily, and offers reliable protection. It’s a solid choice for safe training.

Protecting your teeth and groin during training is crucial. I’ve found traditional jockstraps offer the best fit and protection compared to compression shorts with cups. My current setup with a Shock Doctor cup feels secure, comfortable, and affordable—definitely a must-have for anyone serious about safety.
I ordered this backpack for my jiujitsu gear but was disappointed when it arrived. The chest belt clip seemed misplaced, and the zipper looked damaged. If it takes effort to figure out if it’s broken or just complicated, it’s not worth it. Not recommended for $30.
I found my 13-year-old Cliff Keen knee pads still holding up strong for BJJ. They stay secure, keep their shape, and don’t smell bad even after years. If you train grappling or wrestling, these are worth checking out for solid protection without the bulk.
If you’re tired of athletic tape leaving sticky residue and pulling hair, Hamptom Adams white athletic tape is a game changer. It stays put during intense training and comes off easily without mess. Definitely the best tape I’ve used—worth having on hand for any workout or injury.
Teaching a fitness class takes confidence and focus, especially with 60 people. I plan playlists carefully to keep the energy right and can’t change songs on the spot for one person’s request. Respect the group and save music ideas for after class.
I recently picked up the Adidas Jujitsu Challenge Gi after restarting Brazilian Jujitsu. It’s lighter and fits better than my Atama gi. I’m thinking of adding a black one next since white shows stains easily. So far, this gi feels solid and great for grappling.
I love pizza, and even as I eat healthier now, it’s still a special treat. Recently, I tried Trader Giotto’s Organic Pesto Pizza. It was okay—not my favorite but decent enough. I’d grab it again only if other flavors aren’t around.
