A Wholesome Moment With a Stranger’s Kid

Kid toss

At the Arte Museum exhibit, a little girl came over to me while I was sitting on the floor and tried to climb onto my lap. It obviously felt a little awkward, so I gently held her back since I don’t think a child should be sitting on a stranger’s lap. But she picked her legs up and wouldn’t budge. So I decided to start tossing her up and down gently, saying “weeeeeee” each time.

She loved it and refused to put her feet back on the ground. I kept tossing her up and down until I started working up a sweat. Eventually I found her father and “weeeeeee’d” her right over to him.

It was a sweet, wholesome moment with a young, innocent kid who has no real awareness yet of the dangers strangers can sometimes pose. Or maybe she’s just intuitive and somehow knew she was completely safe coming up to me. Either way, it was a cute little moment, and of course none of the ladies I was with thought to film it. Hah.
