Awake Netflix

This movie was kind of weird, it was about some sort of disaster that happens which keeps people from sleeping. Simply put, no one can sleep. In addition to that, all electrical equipment failed and died. 

As I watched it, I noticed one detail which immediately showed me what the likely solution was. I’m surprised that all these scientists didn’t catch it. But I guess from my vantage point, it makes sense that I might notice it. Although, no one else caught it in our home, but I did. I can save the world! Lol. 

In any case, as expected, in a world where people cannot sleep, things go sideways really fast and society begins to fall apart. Just think back to boot camp, college exams, a double work shift, or any other situation where sleep deprivation was somehow imposed on you. How long before you started becoming delirious? It doesn’t take that many days before we start losing our minds from a lack of sleep.

This movie had many points where it got me really frustrated, but I suppose that a lot of the stupidity I saw was due to their lack of sleep? Maybe? Of course, that is combined with the usual lack of sense these movie characters have. For instance, who the hell leaves their damn young, female child alone in a car during an apocalypse? I’ll tell you who, an idiot that thinks that they are somehow protecting them. No, you don’t ever separate and you don’t ever split up, especially from a young child! Why do I even need to say that?

Overall, this movie was meh. Like I told my wife, I don’t hate it, but if I hadn’t watched it, I don’t think I’d be missing too much.
