Brock Turner, Bacon and why our justice system is broken

Let’s discuss Brock Turner, a slab of bacon and why I think our justice system is broken!

Michael Wolfe, a 37 year old racist broke into a mosque and left a slab of raw bacon. I think we can all agree that this is a pretty disgusting act and he deserves to be punished. Perhaps a few months in jail to teach him some respect and love for his fellow men and women? However, because religion is involved, particularly a protected group, it is labeled a hate crime and he has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. 15 years for a crime that though quite heinous, didn’t actually physically harm anyone. It damaged private property, and insulted a religious group of people.

On other other hand, Brock Turner raped someone. His crime was much more personal, hands on, and had a human victim attached to it. Unlike Wolfe, Brock Turner only served 3 months out of a 6 month term in jail. And, to make matters even worse, now that he’s out, this scumbag is trying to have the conviction overturned. Aaron Persky who was the sentencing judge said, “Prison would not serve this man well,” and then gave him such a lenient punishment.

Please understand this, I am not saying that Michael Wolfe is innocent. He should at a minimum be charged with breaking and entering, as well as defacing a religious institution. And if their is a charge for being an asshole, he should get hit with that as well. My point of contention is that we as a society are so hell bent on being politically correct, that a slab of bacon deems an act a hate crime, while raping a woman or child is somehow seen as less of a crime.

Do you understand what I’m saying? Yes, it sucks, and it is a jerk move that is highly offensive to our Muslim brothers and sisters. I’m not saying otherwise. I’m saying that in my opinion, a rape is far more damaging to the victim, yet our society sees it as “just a crime.” However just saying, “sp*c,” “n*gger,” “f*g,” or adding bacon to the mix makes the crime worse?

Jared Fogle, another perfect illustration of scum on earth received 15 years for sex with a minor. That is a much fairer sentence in relation to his horrible crime. Though many times, as was the case with Brock Turner, child rapists only get a few years in prison at most. Yet, adding a racist or bigoted word to the mix somehow makes it worse? This confuses me and seems wrong.

Again, I’m not saying Wolfe shouldn’t be punished, I’m saying that when you compare him putting a slab of bacon in a mosque with the raping of a child, the raping of a child seems worse from my vantage point. Am I wrong in this? What are your thoughts?

Hey, if anything good comes from this, maybe people will learn that it’s not okay to be a racist piece of shit. Maybe this news will work its way up to Trump and the racist arm of his supporters?
