I just finished watching Castlevania: Nocturne, and it was pretty amazing. I’m not at all surprised by that; the first Castlevania series on Netflix was incredible, so I knew this one would be as well. The animation quality, storytelling, and character development are all top-notch, just like in the original series.
The story doesn’t involve any of the characters from the first animated series, but it does include a Belmont, which is a great nod to the lineage established in the Castlevania universe. The new characters are compelling and well-written, bringing fresh dynamics and conflicts to the series. At the very end, there’s a really great surprise that will undoubtedly excite fans of the franchise. I won’t drop any spoilers or tell you much about the show other than to say it is amazing, and you should definitely watch it.
The action scenes are intense and beautifully choreographed, and the gothic atmosphere is perfectly captured. The voice acting is also superb, adding depth and emotion to the characters. It’s clear that a lot of love and effort went into making this series.
They’ve already announced that season two is coming soon. Again, I’m not surprised. These shows are so great that I’m positive the ratings are through the roof. With the way the first season ended, there are so many intriguing possibilities for where the story could go next. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next installment. If you haven’t started watching Castlevania: Nocturne yet, you’re missing out on one of the best animated series out there.
