After watching Iron Man 3 in Forest Hills tonight, which was just so-so by the way, I decided to finally give this place a shot. I had been meaning to go for years and just never got around to it, so tonight felt like the right time to go for a big burger.
So what did I think? It was decent, certainly not the best burger I have ever had, but far from the worst either. I went with The Serious Burger, which comes as a pretty thick and generous portion of burger meat. I topped it with onions, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. The bun had a tough time holding everything together, so I ended up moving some of the toppings to the plate. It is definitely a messy experience, so come prepared with plenty of napkins.
I also ordered a combination of fries and onion rings. The fries were pretty good, and my kid seemed to enjoy them as well. The onion rings were average, a bit heavier than I usually prefer, though having ordered quite a bit of food, feeling full by the end made sense. The milkshake was a nice touch, with a good balance of thickness and lightness.
Overall, the meal was satisfying and the staff was friendly and attentive. If you enjoy big, juicy, messy burgers, The Serious Burger is worth a visit.
Seems like many of us are covering burger joints lately. Need to start these diets soon!
So it would seem. I need the protein though so it’s all good.
