So I was watching some earlier episodes of “Beyond Scared Straight.” In one scene (about 21 minutes in) as the young girls are being taken out to the prison yard in the “Chowchilla” episode, (the first episode) the yard inmates begin to walk towards them and tease them. Even one of the juvenile’s mom is shown talking to the girl, pleading with her to change so that she doesn’t end up in there with her.
One person that I didn’t expect to see in that bunch of inmates was Crazy Eyes from Orange is the new black. The scene is just a few seconds long, and it happens so fast that most people probably wouldn’t even notice, but I recognized Crazy eyes! I saw her, and I noticed! So what’s the deal with this? Is the Beyond Scared straight show fake? Why did they use footage from what would later go on to become a Netflix original series? What’s going on here? As a loyal watcher of both shows, I demand answers!
