Dawn of DC: Titans first thoughts

I’ve always been more of a Marvel guy when it comes to comics. The few times I tried DC, it hasn’t been enjoyable. However, that hasn’t kept me from trying.

One of my buddies posted a screenshot of a Titans comic that caught my attention. After verifying that I didn’t need to read a dozen other comics to follow this story, I decided to check it out.

Turns out my buddy was correct—I was able to read and enjoy the first comic in this new series. Admittedly, there were a few references indicating some backstory, but even with that, I was able to enjoy it.

It appears that the Justice League is gone. I have no idea why, but the Titans are now the new team protecting the world. Peacemaker makes a cameo, asking them to protect the United States, and they respond that they protect the world. He reports this to Waller.

By the way, speaking of Waller, why hasn’t someone taken her character out already? She’s just a human, yet she somehow has so much power and sway over the super-powerful heroes. Like seriously, why is DC still keeping this annoying character alive when they seemingly just got rid of the Justice League and possibly the Flash, whose name is now Wally? Again, no idea what happened there.

In any case, this was an enjoyable intro, and I’d like to follow the series.
