I went to the bodega to pick up some food items. In talking with my son, packing everything up, and discovering that the eggs were $3.99, I completely forgot that I hadn’t actually paid.
I started to walk out, and the clerk says 1965, I looked at him, and made a confused expression? He repeated it again, I asked him, why are you talking about that year? I’m not sure I understand?
He then looked at the machine, and repeated, 1965. That’s when I realized, he’s telling me cost of the products. In all of our discussion, my mind jumped pass the paying and I almost walked out. Of course this wasn’t intentional, but it was pretty funny once it all clicked.
Has this happened to you?
