Dust by Josh Plasse – First impressions

I judge a book by whether or not it can grasp my interest and attention right from the start. I know some books or shows start slowly, but I’m extremely particular about my time when it comes to reading. If a book doesn’t hook me from the beginning, I’m usually not going to continue or finish it.

Whatever the emotion, a book has to evoke something deep and primal for me. “Dust” accomplished this right from the start. The emotion it evoked? Hatred. I immediately hated Taryn, and that’s how you get someone. See, hatred breeds curiosity. I wanted to know what happens to that evil heathen! Does she eventually get what she deserves?

Well, I’m not going to tell you. But I will tell you that you’ll enjoy finding out. If you’re into fantasy, which I very much am, then you’ll love this book. If you’re not, maybe pick up Moby-Dick or something else as this ain’t for you.

Great read. I had been waiting for this book to drop, and I was not disappointed. Great work by Josh Plasse.
