After decades, my wife and I finally sat down to watch Edward Scissorhands. While the movie was visually interesting and had its moments, I found the plot quite disappointing. There were several points where if Edward or Kim had just spoken up, things might have been resolved in a way that made more sense. Instead, the story took a direction that left me feeling a bit frustrated.
It’s not that I’m being harsh because it’s an older movie—I can appreciate older films—but some of the choices made by the characters didn’t quite work for me. The one standout moment was when Edward confronted Jim, sending him falling from a high-story building. That scene was genuinely satisfying, but overall, the rest of the movie was a bit challenging for me to fully enjoy.
The neighborhood dynamics, along with the various misunderstandings, added to my overall irritation with the plot. It felt like there were several moments of unnecessary drama that could have been avoided. All in all, I expected more from it, but at least I can say I’ve finally watched it!

Just a life long New Yorker sharing the journey through my lens. Please take note of a post’s date. The views I express here are subject to change and evolving as I grow and learn.
