I had the pleasure of spending some time with singer Kathryn F. Hoxie before she moved out of NYC. Singer-songwriter kfHox joins Not Just NYCTalking to share a bit about her journey as a musician. She also discusses domestic violence and the challenges it brings. Finally, we close out with a quick game of “Guess that 80s TV theme show song!”
I met kfHox during a Bronx Stories event at the Museum of Natural History where we connected and stayed in touch.
She agreed to meet up with me and share some of her story with my NYCTalking audience. During our time together, we talked about her journey through life and the music industry.
She is truly determined. She spent months living out of her car to pursue her musical goals, especially during the release of her first EP, “Light shines through me.”
She traveled to Jamaica using funds she raised on Indiegogo and fulfilled one of her dreams: recording a reggae version of her hit single “Screaming to be free.” She recorded it at Bob Marley’s Tuff Gong studios, which is pretty remarkable.

Just an average guy from New York City and his friends all over the world talking about anything and everything. Commentary on current events, film, food, fitness, social issues and much more!

So my wife and I encountered a rude lady on the subway. This wasn’t an overt or extremely obvious situation, it was more discreet and subtle. Listen in to get a rare look at how I can be when I feel someone has pushed a bit too far. Spoiler alert, I did not choke anyone out.
