Fear Street Trilogy Review

So over the weekend my wife and I watched the fear street trilogy. The series takes place over three centuries and the trilogy covers the different periods leading up to the 90s. We get 1994, 1978 and 1666. Now, I thought that I wasn’t going to be interested in 1978 at all. In fact, at first I wasn’t sure whether or not I wanted to watch this period, but the lady wanted to see it and I generally oblige her when she wants to watch a show together.

So this is a horror film which from the gate leads us to believe that it is about a witch punishing people from a town for the wrongdoing of doing their ancestors. But things are not always what they seem, are they? The more of the film I watched, the less and less this theory made any sense. I was actually angry about what the witch was doing to these people. However, as things move along, then it all starts to fall into place and I had the “aha” moment.

The story follows some teenagers on their quest to figure out why the hell people are getting killed and why the witch is doing this. Even to the very last hour of the last film some of it still didn’t make sense to me and I kept wondering what the hell is going on here? I was irritated and screaming at the tv, this stuff was not right!

But as I mentioned before, as the films continue and we are provided with more details it all starts to make sense. These films are pretty gruesome is some parts, so be careful if you have a weak stomach.

Overall, we both enjoyed it and I do recommend you check out this trilogy. I don’t want to provide any spoilers, (hopefully I haven’t) so you’ll have to take my word for it, check out fear street, it’s dope..
