This week marks the beginning of fleet week festivities. Next week the city will be filled with Naval servicemen and women, along with a few Marines.
Nearly every year since 1984, fleet week is held in NYC. The service members come to the city with their big ships and make dock. Some of these folks may be visiting for the first time from different parts of the country, and they take part in all that the city has to offer.
For city residents and visitors, there is the opportunity to see naval ships and demonstrations during this period. It’s an interesting experience to see the men and women who serve our country, of all ages, enjoying the city.
If you are wondering where to find them, simply walking around the city can lead you to service members in their dress whites, out and about enjoying themselves.
