This week marks the beginning of fleet week festivities. Next week the city will be flooded with Naval servicemen and women, along with a few Marines.
Nearly every year since 1984 fleet week is held in NYC. The service members come to the city with their big ships and make dock. Some of these folks are coming here for the first time from different parts of the country, and they partake in all that the city has to offer.
For city goers, we have the opportunity to see naval ships and demonstrations of military might during this period. It’s always a cool experience to see the young men and women that serve our country (also the not so young) enjoying our beloved city.
If you are not sure where to find them, just walk around anywhere in the city and you will be sure to find a group walking around in their dress whites, partying, and enjoying themselves.
