We watched the Pixar film Hopper tonight and it was a genuinely sweet experience from start to finish. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
There is definitely some underlying messaging in the film about animals and how we treat them within their natural environment. Parts of it are a little harsh and sad to sit with, especially when it gets into themes of greed and human impact. But the story finds its footing and by the end everyone comes together for something bigger than themselves.
That is really what the film is about at its core. It is entertaining, it is warm, and it leaves you feeling good when the credits roll. That is not always easy to pull off. I was happy by the time it was over. It is just one of those films. You walk away feeling better than when you sat down. I would watch it again without hesitation.
