Caught something on the train platform the other day that stuck with me. There was a homeless guy sitting on one of the benches with an umbrella up over his head, using it like a makeshift shelter while he tried to sleep. First time I’ve seen that particular setup. You’d think after nearly fifty years I’d have seen most things, but people find ways to adapt that you wouldn’t expect. It was actually pretty clever when you think about it. Takes a certain resourcefulness to work with what you’ve got available. Made me think about the ways folks manage to get by with limited options.
