I bought the InnoView 15-inch monitor with the plastic base instead of the leather case version, and the base feels very unstable. It doesn’t stay firmly in place, it slides around, and it feels uneven. I don’t trust it, so I’m sending it back.

I considered trying the other version to see if it’s better, but I’m not sure I want to deal with it again. The monitor itself looks great — at least for the five minutes I had it working. It’s important to note that you need a specific Thunderbolt cable for it to function properly. A random USB-C cable will not work, which I learned the hard way.

It’s a relatively inexpensive and interesting idea. If I decide to order the other version, I’ll provide an update. I also tried placing it on a separate stand, but the bottom edge of the monitor is slightly thicker, so it sticks out and feels a bit unstable. That added to my hesitation.

In terms of display quality and overall appearance, from the short time I used it, it seems like a solid concept — especially for people who travel and need an extra screen. For now, though, I’ve decided to stick with using multiple virtual desktops on my Mac. The added 3rd monitor setup doesn’t feel worth the hassle.
