Is Claude AI Reliable Enough to Be Your Main Writing Tool?

I want to talk about something that has been affecting my workflow more than I would like: Claude.AI reliability.

I have been trying to make Claude my main writing tool because, honestly, I prefer its writing style over ChatGPT. It feels more natural, more human, and better suited for the kind of content I produce. But reliability has become a real issue.

The problems show up on my phone, on the desktop app, and even on the browser version. That last part is telling. If the browser behaves the same as the app, that suggests the app is probably just a wrapped version of the web experience anyway. So switching to the browser is not really a fix.

There is also a smaller but annoying bug where pressing Enter does not create a line break. You have to press Command + Enter to get it to work. I was living with that one and just pushing through it.

The bigger problem is when queries do not return at all. Sometimes I get a message saying it is taking longer than usual. Sometimes it tells me I have reached my limit, which does not seem right. And then there are the full outages, where the service is just down for hours. That has happened more than once, and it has disrupted my writing at the worst times, like right now, when I am trying to get something done before work.

By comparison, I cannot remember the last time ChatGPT went down on me. The app is solid and consistent. I do not like its writing style as much, but it shows up every time.

That is the trade off I am wrestling with. Claude writes better, in my opinion, but I need a tool I can count on. If the reliability issues continue, I may have to go back to ChatGPT simply because I cannot afford to lose time waiting for a service to come back online.

What has your experience been? Is this happening to others, or is it just me? I am curious because this is happening often enough that it is hard to ignore.
