Okay folks, I’m gonna keep this short and sweet. There will be no spoilers, only my opinion and a brief review of the movie IT.
Check it, I recently watched the original tv series on youtube (paid) with my son. It wasn’t a spectacular movie, but it was okay to sit through once. When the second one came out, my son really wanted to see it, so I purchased tickets to go watch it as soon as it came out.
As I sat and watched this film, it started sort of promising, a fresh new take on a classic, but then I started to get bored. The film was very similar to the first one, and there wasn’t anything in the way of improvements that made it more exciting or entertaining for me. So I was legit getting bored, and couldn’t wait for it to be over.
The most exciting part about the film was the kid from Stranger things, his humor, constant cursing and overall comic relief made the boredom less painful for me. My son really enjoyed the film, and though I didn’t really care for it at all, I guess I’m committed now and will have to watch the second half of it when it comes out eventually.
That’s another thing, somehow I got the impression that they were going to take the film and shorten it down so that the whole thing could fit in the one film, but that’s not the case. They are also making it a two part series.
I kept telling my son, this dude is wack, he can only kill you if you are scared of him. I’m just saying, if his clown ass came at me like he did those kids, I’d punch him in the face and we’d go toe to toe. His clown ass don’t scare me! LOL. Look, if you want to see it, wait for the dvd or stream it online. This is definitely not a film I’d consider theater worthy. They didn’t even keep the “Hi Georgie, now we know each other!” At least that part made me laugh in the original one! Dude sounded like a mobster or something, hilarious!
Anyway, that’s all I have on this. Watch it at home!
