Leon the professional

I recently watched this movie and I thought that it was cool as a movie overall, but I felt that it does have some really weird stuff going on.

The plot is about this hardcore hitman who gets stuck protecting this young girl who due to a series of unfortunate events ends up knocking on his door. That’s all okay and in line with the typical Hollywood tough guy movie plot line.

Where it gets weird is that the very young girl appears to fall in love with this old dude and it appears as though this grown man reciprocates. Mind you, it wasn’t like dad and daughter type of love, I was some romantic leanings when they spoke about love. I was big time catching some pedo vibes from their dynamic and that didn’t sit well with me.

There were a few other things from the movie itself that bugged me. Like Old Tony being the one who holds on to Leon’s money all the time, I just don’t trust Old Tony at all. Though by the end, he seems to be honest with Leon.

The villains in this film are as often is the case in film, dirty cops. In this movie it’s really bad because they then use their substantial legal police resources including unaware good cops to try and take Leon and the little girl out. That’s just not cool at all because innocents die due to them.

Anyway, all that weirdness with their relationship aside, I think the film was enjoyable.
