Losing Peppa: Grieving the Loss of My Sweet Five Pound Pomeranian

I recently lost my sweet five pound Pomeranian, Peppa, and my heart has been aching ever since. The grief is real and it is constant. There are moments throughout the day where the sadness just sits there quietly, and then something small triggers it and everything comes rushing back. A sound, a spot on the couch, a routine that no longer has a reason. Anything can do it.

I have been trying to live as normally as possible but normal feels different now. Peppa was such a small dog but she filled so much space in our lives and in our home, and that absence is impossible to ignore.

For anyone who has been through this, I would genuinely love to hear how you coped. Pet loss is one of those griefs that people sometimes minimize from the outside, but anyone who has loved an animal the way we loved Peppa knows there is nothing small about it. She was family.

How did you get through it? What helped?
