So my wife and I have been trying to find a way to trim my dog’s nails for ages. We’ve tried all kinds of techniques, from “the burrito” to holding her like a newborn baby. Nothing really worked. We found ourselves taking her to the vet every few weeks for a nail trim, which was getting pretty costly, especially in recent years with prices going up across the board.
In any case, we came across this suspension style hammock which some people swore by, and I mean, what have we got to lose by trying? Well, guess what? This worked perfectly! At first, I was concerned that Peppa might be uncomfortable or smothered, though I’m sure she doesn’t particularly enjoy it. She’s not under any form of mental or physical distress on the hammock. She simply just hangs there and my wife is able to cut her nails.

It may look really weird, and possibly feel a little unsettling at first, but this method has saved us the trouble of taking her to the vet every few weeks. Also, when we bring her there, she really gets stressed and scared. She shakes, whines, and really doesn’t want to be there. So in reality, despite appearances, this is also better for her too. Everybody wins.
