Craig Dershowitz has paid over $60,000 in legal fees, his life savings, in an attempt to regain custody of his dog from his ex-girlfriend. He claims the dog is his, while the woman states the dog belongs to her.
He appeared on the Today Show this morning with his lawyer, presenting his case and asking for donations to help cover legal fees.
The show also interviewed the ex-girlfriend, who insisted the dog was hers and suggested this dispute is motivated by personal issues arising from their breakup.
In the court system, this is treated as a property dispute since the dog is legally considered property. Both parties are working to establish judicial jurisdiction in their respective states.
It seems the dog named Knuckles remains at the center of an ongoing legal battle.
