So I was totally crushing on Iris from Mayor of Kingstown. I think Emma Laird is absolutely lovely. However, her character was really challenging from the very first time I met her.
Throughout the show, Iris faced a lot of difficulties. Many of the situations she found herself in seemed to result from her own decisions, which often put her in tough spots. Mike went through a lot trying to help her, yet she kept getting caught up in complicated situations, whether it involved Milo, Konstantine, or the cops. It felt like one difficult choice after another.
It all came to a head in the final episode when Iris finally got her freedom. But then, unexpectedly, she chose to take her own life. Honestly, there were moments when I questioned her choices and what might have happened if Mike had walked away. Still, the writers decided to end her story right when things seemed to be turning around.
Her story is tragic and deeply emotional. Even though I struggled with some of her decisions, it’s hard not to feel for her journey and the way it ended.
