Maya Sienna’s Official Music Video, “Dollar”  is premiering TODAY!!!

The Triple Talented, Maya Sienna, is a Self-Taught Singer/Songwriter, Dancer, and Actress is promoting her new single “Dollar”. She began singing at the tender age of 6 and knew right away that she wanted to Sing and Perform for the rest of her life! It was “Love at First Song” as Maya says herself.

Maya works with Grammy Nominated Producer, Shawn Campbell, who found and produced Cody Simpson, who just got done touring with Justin Bieber. Maya Sienna also works with World Class Choreographer, Darrien Henning, who has choreographed star such as Cody Simpson and Britney Spears who took dance classes from him.

Here is a brief interview with Maya Sienna:

How old were you when you started singing?
I was six years old when I started singing. I immediately knew it was what I wanted to be doing for the rest of my life. It was “Love at First Song” as I like to say!

Who was your biggest inspiration growing up?
Definitely Beyonce! I have always looked up to her for her awesome stage presence and amazing vocals. I aspire to be like her!

Was the transition to leave school to be home schooled difficult?
It was a little difficult but at the same time I knew it was what I had to do for my career. Being home schooled makes it a lot easier for me to travel and do the things I need to do for my career.

What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
I am mostly Pop with influences from other Genres. I like to mix House and Dance Genres with Pop.  Beyonce, Rihanna, and Christina Aguilera are my major influences who I look up too!

Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?
I am not signed to any record labels as of yet.  I am currently working with some heavy hitters in the Music Industry and am enjoying being an Indie Artist and building my craft. I know some Record Labels are looking at me at the moment, so I will let you know who I sign with. 

Tell us about your new song that is out?
I wrote “Dollar” about a boy I had a crush on. I wanted to let him know that I don’t care about how much he does or doesn’t have. And that I don’t need him to buy me expensive things like diamonds and pearls or take me to fancy places. I only care about him and what his heart has to offer. Anything else doesn’t matter to me. My next Song is a Fast Pop Song!  I can’t wait to share it with everyone!

Do you find as a teenager that your management has more of a say in how things are run; like in your new music video… did you have a say when the video was being made?
My manager is my mom-ager and so yes, I have a lot of input in my career.  I make many joint decisions about my career from the productions of my Official Music Video’s to writing my own songs and picking out my own beats.  I am very excited to say that I came up with the plot of my own Official Music Video which I am so happy to share with everyone!

Do you find people think you are either too young or too old at your age in this business?
No, I think there is room for all ages in the music business.

What has been your biggest challenge?
I think the biggest challenge is to not get discouraged and keep going no matter what.  Never give up on your dream!

What has been your biggest highlight?
My biggest highlight for sure is having my Debut Single “Dollar” released. I’m so excited to have my first song out for the world to hear! Another HUGE highlight is that the Music Video for “Dollar” is premiering on June 20th! I can’t wait for everyone to see it!!

Where do you perform? Do you ever play any covers? Do you have a set play list?
I perform anywhere and everywhere I can. I have performed in Atlanta, GA, Los Angeles, CA, and Miami, FL  just to name a few. I play cover songs, as well as my original songs. I have a set play list and I also take song requests. I like to make each show unique and tailor it to each audience.

What are your dreams?
I want to be a singer and performer for the rest of my life. I want be able to make a difference in the world, inspire others and show them that they can follow their dreams no matter what others say!
