Michelle Wolf Salute to Abortion

So I kept seeing posts about Michelle Wolf and her salute to abortion skit. I have ignored it for sometime, but I decided that I needed to watch this before any articles or external influences dictated how I perceived it.

So I took a look, and I gotta tell you guys, I’m disgusted by her tasteless take on this heavy topic. I find her utterly annoying and extremely disgusting. In my opinion, she is the furthest thing from funny at the moment.

I am pro-choice when it comes to a woman’s right to abortion. However, it’s not a stance that I take lightly. I know it’s not my body or my choice, but I do have the right to choose whether or not I support abortion in the court of public opinion.

With Trump about to appoint another Supreme Court Justice, pro-choicers will need all the support we can get. I support a woman’s right to choose, but I don’t think that we should be taking the topic of abortion lightly. There’s really no need to be an asshole and treat abortions like they are just a walk in the park. Some of you may disagree with me, (I’ve seen posts saying, “My abortion was fantastic”) but a lot women don’t treat getting an abortion like a joke. It’s a pretty heavy decision.

Whether you argue that it is a baby, a fetus, a clump of cells, or whatever, it’s not a topic that should be taken lightly. At the end of the day, if undisturbed, that would become a child. So yes, you have the right to choose, but in my opinion, it’s not a joking matter.

I thought her skit crossed the line and makes light of a topic that really isn’t funny. Growing up I knew women who got abortions as their form of birth control, and that’s not funny. Some of them fucked up their bodies by doing that. I have a hard time understanding how something so easy to prevent is not done. It’s so much easier to not get pregnant, than to have an abortion.

As a man, to avoid ever having to engage in this discussion with a partner, I’ve done my part and I wear a condom to prevent unwanted pregnancy. It’s so simple to do. Men, you can actively take part in this decision making process by wearing condoms. No pregnancy, no debates, no problem, and all is good with the world.

If you don’t plan on having children, you should take some measure to protect yourself. If you get pregnant but don’t want a child, I understand and support your choice. But I’d like to think that we can all agree that having an abortion should not be the preferred method of birth control.

I agree with Michelle in that women have the right to choose, but her take on the topic was utterly disgusting. She’s not funny to me and I look forward to her disappearing from Netflix and the media over all. I don’t know who did or why they picked her to be the new face of liberals, but I don’t like her and I don’t like her antics at all. She’s not funny.

Again, I support your right to choose, but I don’t like Wolf treating this very serious thing like it’s a joke. It’s one thing to support a woman’s right to choose, and it’s another thing entirely trying to normalize abortion to the point that it is on the same level as getting a hamburger. It’s not the same thing and you are not funny at all. Please do us all a favor, and go away.
