This movie shouldn’t be confused with the series Yellowstone or 1883. It’s a completely separate film and has nothing to do with those shows. It’s set in the old West, though, and follows a familiar setup where a stranger rolls into town and ends up being blamed for a murder. Predictable. Oh yeah, and he’s a black man, so of course they are gonna blame him. Racism and prejudice never surprise me unfortunately.
It’s a typical Western plot, but there are some interesting twists along the way. There’s a good amount of betrayal, setups, and the usual criminal nonsense. You get a bit of mystery, some action, and even a little heartbreak.
It’s one of those new style Westerns that you really can’t go wrong with these days. Overall, we enjoyed it and I’d say it’s worth a watch.
