My new job

I just started a new job. I just finished my first month. We sit on a very busy service desk and I find that the days fly by given how busy we are. After only two weeks, I feel like I’ve been there much longer. This is good because believe it or not, I love to work hard and get things done for my clients.

There were concerns in my family that after a 1 year of being out of work, I’d be unable to perform at my high level, but those concerns were dispelled on day one. I jumped right into the swing of things as if I was never off.

So far I am loving the role. We have a great team who has been very helpful to me as I get my feet wet. I really like to carry my own weight and don’t want to be a burden on the team so I have tried my best to get up to speed and become as independent as I can.

I do need to remember that I am not running this team and that I am no longer flying solo at the helm. I need to seek help and pass things along as necessary. I don’t have to do everything I touch by myself. I’ve always been the “go to” guy and I am now back on a team, so I don’t need to carry everything myself anymore. As long as I remember that, I am sure that things will continue to run along smoothly.

This job is perfect for me, I literally could not have planned this any better myself. Someone out there is definitely looking out for me.

Excited to share that I’ve recently started a new job, and it’s been an incredibly rewarding experience so far. Closing out my second week on a bustling service desk, the days seem to fly by with the amount of activity we handle. Surprisingly, despite just two weeks in, it feels like I’ve been part of this team for much longer.

After a year away from work, there were concerns within my family about how quickly I could get back into the groove. However, those worries vanished on day one as I seamlessly integrated back into the work environment. The clients are already liking me and I also hope that my team recognizes my willingness to get in there and work.

I’m truly enjoying my role, thanks in large part to the amazing team that has been incredibly supportive as I navigate this new chapter. Striving to pull my weight and be a valuable team member, I’ve made it a priority to swiftly adapt and work independently.

While I have a natural inclination to take charge and handle tasks single-handedly, I’ve realized the importance of leaning on my team and asking for help when necessary. Understanding that I’m part of a collective effort and no longer solely responsible for every task is very important. Besides, with 800 busy users, there is no way I could keep up by myself even if I tried.

This job aligns perfectly with my strengths and preferences, almost as if it was tailor-made for me. Did I mention it is across the street from my home? I am so grateful for the support and opportunities that have come my way, I feel truly fortunate to be in this position.
