Nick Fury: My war gone by

This comic delves into Nick Fury’s involvement in earlier wars and conflicts. Despite surviving some pretty nasty situations, Fury is portrayed as essentially human, without any superhuman abilities.

The comic depicts the usual aspects of war, including corrupt politicians who only care about their image. These politicians abandon soldiers who are doing a job under the guise of serving their country and defending freedom. These politicians are the absolute scum of the earth—the worst of the worst.

Fury is involved, to some degree, in conflicts ranging from World War II to the Bay of Pigs invasion. The storyline is somewhat disjointed and difficult to follow, compounded by some odd-looking art. As a product of the MAX era, it has a mature and gritty tone. While it’s an okay read, I almost gave up on it due to these issues.
