Growing up I always listened to oldies. “When a man loves a woman” is one of the songs that I used to listen to with my dad. I feel an extra touch of sadness learning that this artist has passed away. Having only recently buried my dad’s ashes, it is almost poetic that one of the artists we shared passed away.
I’m not a deeply religious man, but if there is an after world, I hope that my pops and Mr. Sledge are sharing a spiritual drink together.
Our condolences go out to the friends and family of Mr. Percy Sledge. Rest in peace, and thank you for the great music you left us.
I’m a Bronx Raised Puerto Rican who dances in pink tights! Please do take note of the date on a post, over the years my views have evolved and they continue to do so. It’s all about growth and progress. Peace.
