We had the cane juice and it was phenomenal. I loved it. We actually went back for it two more times already. It was really, really delicious. It’s called Guarapo, which is the Cuban way of saying sugarcane juice.

We also had a coconut. The ladies split it open so we could drink the juice through a straw with a little hole in it. After that, she cut it in half and one of them had a decent amount of pulp inside while the other one was pretty sparse and barely had anything at all.

We picked up some mangoes and oranges and they were really delicious. The fruit tasted great, sweet and fresh. Delicioso.

We also got the tamale, which gets a lot of praise from people. The person in our group who was most excited about it was a little disappointed though. She didn’t love it too much. As for me, I’m pretty indifferent about tamales. I don’t dislike them but I don’t love them either, so I’m good either way. It was fine for me, but since she’s more of a fan than I am and it wasn’t doing it for her, I think it’s safe to say it wasn’t really hitting the spot for this visit.
