This movie had a lot of potential, but it ultimately fell flat for me. The story revolves around a former Marine who crosses paths with some corrupt cops that rob him and leave him with no way to recover his money. From the beginning, the film suggests that this character is going to be similar to a Rambo type, but that’s where the first disappointment comes in—he’s actually a military combatives instructor, which lowers some of that action-hero expectation. They tried to build him up as a martial arts master, but it didn’t quite work for me.
The plot itself is very predictable. I pretty much guessed how everything was going to play out, which made the whole thing feel a bit lackluster. The actors did a decent job, but the storyline just wasn’t enough to keep me fully engaged. I found myself waiting for something more exciting or unexpected to happen, but it never really did.
Without giving away any spoilers, by the end of the film, I was left thinking, “That’s it?” I like the lead actor and think he had potential, but the way they used him and the overall plot was a big letdown. I had high hopes for this movie, but in the end, I walked away disappointed.
