If you are looking for a place in the Keys that feels like a genuine escape, Reefhouse Resort and Marina in Key Largo delivers. Christine and I had a wonderful stay here and I would go back without hesitation.

From the moment we arrived, the staff set the tone. The service was warm and attentive, and they surprised us with a complimentary room upgrade, which is always a nice touch. You also get a welcome packet when you check in that includes a small wine bottle. Small detail, but it made an impression. We don’t drink, so we gave it back to them so it won’t go to waste. But they also have a daily drink that they made in the front from fruit, sprite, and ginger ale that was yummy and refreshing. We did partake of that one almost every day. Yum!

The property itself is beautiful. The room was comfortable and well appointed, the pool is private, and they have private beach access that felt like it belonged to us alone. For the first few days we practically had the whole place to ourselves, and even when guests started arriving toward the weekend it never felt crowded. That kind of relaxed atmosphere is hard to find and it’s exactly what we were looking for.

They also have a 24 hour gym on site and decent parking, which matters more than people realize when you are traveling in the Keys.

Dining in the resort is a bit of a mixed bag. There are a few restaurants that are solid but on the pricier side. My honest advice is to explore. There are hidden gems in this area that are worth seeking out, and part of the fun is finding them.

Reefhouse gave us exactly what we needed. Great space, great staff, and the kind of quiet that lets you actually decompress. We will be back again.
