Rewatching Harry Potter Films: A Timeless Journey Through the Wizarding World

So every so often I’ll catch my wife watching one of the earlier Harry Potter films. I’ll sit and watch a bit with her then move along. But this last time I decided that I wanted to watch all of the films and properly sit through them once again.

So admittedly, the first two I watched in passing with her, I saw pretty much all of it, but I didn’t sit from start to finish. The decision to do that came after the second film. Still, I feel like I need to watch those first two in their entirety to feel like I watched them all again. I did sit and watch the other films from start to finish.

I have to tell you, I still enjoy this franchise very much. It is one of the greatest film series that I’ve ever watched and it has certainly stood the test of time. I’ve been wanting to reread the books again for a while now, I really enjoyed them. I remember being so into the 5th book that I was reading for a few minutes before bedtime, and then suddenly my work alarm went off. I didn’t even realize I had been up all night reading.

I want to reread The Cursed Child again and I’d really love it if they made a film about it. I heard that Daniel Radcliffe is not currently interested in returning to the role of Harry Potter if they make the film. While I have my own views about that, I’ll leave it at this: I respect his decision either way. If others take on the role, that’s fine too. I’d prefer he continue as Harry Potter, but if he chooses not to, the story can move forward with someone else in the part.

I really do hope they make the movie though. I do intend to reread the play again very soon. Thing is I’m still on my Monster Hunter series kick, but I’ll get to it soon. What are your thoughts on the Harry Potter franchise?
